Here for Gaga serving a power vocalist album after LG6?

I don't want an album with vocal acrobatics and over use of wailing.

Showing off all that techical brilliance often takes the edge of emotion. Like, we all know  Christina is a fantastic singer, but when she tones the show-offy technical side she gains in soul and the groove factor soars.

Just MO of course. I've never been drawn to wailing divas.

I would love songs in the vein of Bonnie Tyler or 80s cher. Mix them in with dramatic ballads like early 90s Celine and that's the dream.

Imagine her busting out "I am your lady" or "all by myself"

You know who slayed a combo of power ballad and well placed vocal acrobatics? Jessie J on the singer.

She is def at the age of Vocal Peak. I think ASIB soundtrack will serve some vocals. She doesn’t abuse her voice with bad technique Like Mariah. She also isn’t an alcoholic or does crack. The only thing I’d be worried about is her smoking. Celine took HUGE measures to preserve her voice, so Gaga should follow in that realm. Gaga has great technique, and isn’t constantly pushing her voice to the extreme. THerefore her peak should last longer Than Mariah or Christina’s.

I mean it that way as well. If she wants to be respected outside of 18 year old stans on Twitter she cant keep making The Fame over and over again. Of course they are allowed to have an opinion, but I am also allowed to challenge that opinion.

Just saying but TF and TFM didn't aim only 18 year old stans.

Yes and no. I want an album that shows her vocals but not the "vocalist type" like Mariah Carey or Celine Dion, where vocals are just there for the sake of it. I love how she uses her vocals to fit the songs and the meanings (screamy hard rock-like vocals in Swine, low, dark and raspy in Dope, light and cute in Lovegame, powerful and fierce in Marry the Night...). I don't want a "hey look I can sing, reach high notes and make vocal acrobatics" kind of album.

That would destroy her career . It will sell like 50K in 1st week. During Celine , Mariah and Whiteny's eras it was all about vocals and Madonna for example was seen as a talentless singer. Nowadays it's the opposite nooone cares for vocals that much and the climate change. She should come with a Pop album maybe with a ballad or two maximum like she always do and the rest of the album needs to be fun.

Why not listen to a less versatile pop singer then? You cant listen to someone as talented and smart as Gaga and not expect her to drastically change her sound between each album.

This. I don't understand all the members in this fanbase who criticize her working on other genres. It was obvious since the very beginning that she was way more than a popstar. There were all the acoustic performances, her pre-Fame songs, she always talked about the artists from many genres that she loved, and you could just see even in her pop songs that she was inspired by other genres. I can understand the surprise from an outsider who's only familiar with Poker Face, but from fans ?

I think they meant how Gaga's been doing mostly only vocal based projects these past 5 years with c2c and Joanne, compared to stuff that emphasizes the music.

Plus they're allowed to have an opinion :)

So C2C and Joanne didn't emphasize the music ?

By music I meant more focus on production and instrumentation as opposed to vocal prowess. In no way were we criticizing her at all, I love everything she does,  I just feel like people are allowed to have personal opinions and tastes, and the person shared that. They didn't reference "the Fame" at all, but if they did, we shouldn't make people feel guilty for only liking that side of her. :) Just my two cents

Yes, I think Joanne is interesting musically though, not only for the vocals. Production-wise it's more simple than her previous albums but the music itself is good.
