Demi Lovato sexual assault prank backlash

Taide

This is why I hate being a guy in this age's society. If a man would tweet something like this and said it was for fun and even that ''victim'' said it was a joke etc he'd been teared apart by the media and possibly seeking a court case etc. But because a woman joked about it, everybody thinks it's not that serious.

Sooooooo technically it wasn't Demi who sexually assaulted her bodyguard, Max (if this is what you're referring to). She hired a woman to go into his hotel room. From what I read, Demi didn't know the woman was going to do what she did.

she knew well what that Lady Of The Night will do

Thats another assumption, one that isnt based in fact based on my cruising around Facebook comment sections.

You're telling me that during this era of the #MeToo and Time's Up movements (eras that particularly target famous men in Hollywood and the music industry), that Lionel Richie kissing a young girl by surprised wouldn't get media attention/have people hate on him?

Sure, it may be an assumption, but an educated one at that. By your logic, you're assuming that something like that wouldn't happen.

She still had him assaulted

Well, if Max didn't perceive it as assault, that ends the discussion. He didn't feel he was assaulted, so he wasn't assaulted.

No need to drag out Donald Trump's sexual assault cases then or any other sexual assault cases

Sure. Cause pop star and president of one of the biggest forces in the world are the same thing.

Of course it would get hate on him and demands of being fired, but if you dont think people would be defending him you are delusional.

I'm sure that there would be people defending him, but then those people would be ostracized by the majority of people who would think that it wasn't okay.

This isn't about "are people willing to defend 'this person'?" This discussion is about how often times female sexual assault aggressors/enablers often times don't get as much media attention and/or hate as their male counterparts. That isn't debatable, it's a fact.

Born To Slay

There were a lot of articles written about it and it was widely discussed online. The twitter lashings made headlines. But she's not gonna get the coverage Trump got because he was a candidate for president and Demi is a B list pop star.

I AGREE. DRAG THAT TALENTLESS MEAN WHALE TO THE PITS OF HELL

She definitely messed up big time, but making fun of an ex-annorexic girl's weight isn't the coolest thing to do. But go awf I guess. 👀

Idk, in my opinion, she didn't fully think it through and just invited the woman over.

And the fact that she's the one who tweeted about it :sharon: probably thinking there was nothing wrong with it so yes she needs to be lectured!

Maybe but both of your points are irrelevant as he is saying "in this specific case". As for M Monstre you only assuming thatd happen we have no evidence thatd point to that happening. This is such a weird case that there isnt anything to compare it to.

I just wasn’t sure if you weren’t saying there’s no double standard *in general* or just in this case. I agree with you in this particular case
