Now that I think about it, if they release Shallow before the movie, it could go one of two ways.

1st Option: The song is released and rises on the charts in the following weeks of the movie being shown, ensuring longevity, but not a high peak. 

2nd Option: The song is released and everyone rushes to buy it, causing no longevity on the charts but a high peak position.

I would love for this to happen. Gaga needs another stable hit, and this is the era to do it.

The movie alone wont make Shallow a Top 10 hit... we need lot of radio support and good streaming. Performances and a music video would help a lot. But anyways we should have our focus on the soundtrack

This is my take too. If a song does come Friday, my guess is that they want a song for Grammy consideration. Could help with overall awards/Oscar hype. Seems smart to me.

We waited a whole month since Aug30, we can wait a few more days. Releasing a song Oct 5 will help it's debut. A hot debut will attract radio.
