This. Also the movie had no buzz. Usually everything Star Wars is inescapable, I literally know the plot of the last two ones in excruciating detail even though I have never actually seen them. When I heard about it flopping, it was the first time I actually HAD heard about it and I was shook because those 500 Million dollars they spend on marketing were essentially useless.

I was trying to say that, when she was cast, this was a great opportunity for her and a stellar role... that later on turned into a real mess.

Jumanji reboot having stronger legs and outpacing TLJ starting week 3 was an early sign that Star Wars is in trouble. ****ing Star Wars was losing to a Jumanji reboot. Now Jumanji 2 is setting a release at the same time as episode IX for a potential 1,2 punch. Marvel has been building its gross for every movie while Star Wars is tanking hard. And with all the drama and shitflinging between the execs and directors of SW and the fanbase, it might just get worse.
