I think the biggest loser in the paid vs ad supported streaming change will be EDM.

Indeed, apple has like a 5% growth, while spotify has a 2% one I think.

One major example is Soundcloud. Many hip-hop artists receive tons of streams from SoundCloud and the majority of the streamers don't pay for the service. So therefore the songs will only receive two-thirds of the value it's receiving now. 

 

Music videos will also take a hit. So viral videos on Youtube will only be two-thirds as impactful on the Hot 100 

 

 

Two thirds is still strong to me.... anyway, looking forward to see if there's any chance but I doubt

I still have a year left of university hun I’m poor as ****. But i can still fork out less than $10 for music a month. I dont understand why some people are so against that. All my friends who are still in school are working just above minimum wage part time jobs like myself and we can still afford to pay for streaming services. I cringe when i see people listening to their music through YouTube
