I'm watching CNBC right now, and the commercials for tomorrow's Belmont Stakes running airing nonstop, and so is APPLAUSE - the song of choice for this ad.

It's a very big deal here in the US because Justify (the horse) will be racing for Triple Crown.

So in Japan the movie will be called “Ally” (YAS they know who they have to stan) and it will be released on December 21st.

Is that release date normal for Japan? I mean, do movies usually get released THAT late there? Will it affect the box score?

It will be titled "アリー/ スター誕生" which translates to "Ally: Star Birth"

And yes, it's pretty common for western movies to get released late there. I think Frozen was released four months after it was released in the USA.

It's a marketing tactic that is used in Japan to minimize box office bombs, when the trailers are on TV as ads they usually get sold with statements like "Success abroad!" or "#1 in the USA"

Apparently it's one of the most effective ways to ensure Japanese people will go to the theaters, which makes sense since movie tickets in Japan are so expensive (usually 20 U.S. dollars) and no one would really want to spend that much money to go see a movie they have no idea would be worth it or not.  However, repeatedly seeing catch phrases such as “World-wide box office hit!” would naturally make them think, “Well if it’s good enough for the world, it must be worth seeing”.  Smart application of psychology right there.

I've been watching the trailer so many times already and I usually don't watch things more than 2-3 times, it's just so good, Gaga looks, acts and sounds amazing on it and even Bradley sounds nice. I've had The Shallow and that song that Bradley is singing from 1:08 on my head non-stop in the last 2 days

The haters are sooo mad and I am enjoying it. You know you are killing it when your haters are so angry, what's bad would be seeing them happy.

But they decided to hate on a very talented woman, so they did it to their damn selves

Another AWESOME thing from the ASIB era, we will finally get more Gaga interviews! Something that was missing from the Joanne era

Where have you been, she only ever did interviews as promo in the Joanne era (sans MR performances), which is why the album didn't do as well in Europe. No one cares unless you perform there and people always ask her the same questions, I think I stopped watching and reading Gaga interviews ever since 2012 lmfao
