that's what has crossed my mind too. It'd be a damn mess. Her IG post about music being on its way made it sound like its still a few months out though. Like late November.

Also, I gotta say, given how she only has two #1 albums and has always kinda struggled with album sales, I doubt her label would want to release during a week with actual competition if it can be avoided? Plus, the fall calendar is like wiiiiide open right now, so if they have their pick of weeks, why choose that one?

that's true. She's been serving longevity lately not frontloadedness. Anti did 166,000 in its first full week but has gone on to sell like 3m SPS.

Truly no shade, but she has benefitted from (and smartly taken advantage of) the perks of the streaming age better than anyone on her tier. She's sold 8 katrillion singles, but has always had a harder time getting people to buy her albums. Streaming has kinda made that problem irrelevant for her now, but it's wild Joanne and Anti aren't that far apart in pure sales and Joanne opened bigger in the same year.

I think her next album could give her her biggest opening week ever, potentially, but my guess is it will be like 70 - 80% SPS and, like, 100K pure MAX.
