I mean, it was already mentioned in the Variety article about the ASIB producer/the petition that is going around to get people to boycott the film.

This is Oscars-league stuff now. If this stuff gets picked up, the expectation that things will get bigger and uglier than ever before is not unrealistic.

That said, the photo is dumb and easily explained away. But yes, it does suck that it exists.

At least we're getting all of this out of the way now. On the substance of the first controversy, it's gross that that guy has a producer credit on this movie and he should've never been let near it. When it comes to this potentially having an effect Gaga's Oscar chances... Gary Oldman had a full-blown sh*tshow erupt around him last year right before the Oscars about the fact that his ex-wife had accused him of beating her with a phone and he still won. As pathetic as that is, it's obvious that these sorts of controversies only matter so much to Oscar voters.

The other thing is obviously just a bunch of deranged Madonna fans doing anything they can to sabotage her. Gaga was coked out of her mind at a German sex club (the place that gave her the inspiration to write Scheiße, which is how we know she was coked up that night) and somebody was taking photos of her sitting on some bench and those two guys came and sat down next to her in the middle of that impromptu shoot. She didn't pose with them. If anything, they were harassing her. If you've seen the rest of the photos, it's obvious what happened. The fact that we have to keep putting up with this non-controversy resurfacing over and over again is exhausting given that we know it's complete BS.

I agree. Better now than 3 months from now. And that it is coming this fast, before the movie even opens, shows how shook people are at the film's reception. WB will deal with it. They know how to handle these kinds of things, and they have time and endless resources.

And yeah, I know the context of the photo. Objectively, there's really nothing deeply bad about it, especially when you know the story. But if a picture's worth a thousand words... Like that's the crappy part.
