Friday Opening: Unlike music charts which track sales (and streams) immediately only at the start of Friday (past Thursday midnight), Friday Opening/Premieres include Thursday viewings. If a film has significant early viewings on Thursday night, it can contribute to an apparent massive drop for the next days simply because we're considering more than 24 hours' worth of ticket sales for just one day.
