Melech 9,900
President Trump wants to impose a total ban on the imports of German luxury cars, according to a new report from CNBC and German magazine WirtschaftsWoche. Several U.S. and European diplomats told the news outlets that Trump told French President Emmanuel Macron about his plans last month during a state visit. Trump reportedly told Macron that he would maintain the ban until no Mercedes-Benz cars are seen on Fifth Avenue in New York. Shares of Daimler, Porsche and Volkswagen were lower on Thursday, shortly after the weekly German business magazine published the report. The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment. The report comes a week after Trump ordered Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross to investigate auto tariffs and probe whether car imports are a danger to national security. A similar national security argument was used when Trump placed steep tariffs on aluminum and steel imports in March. Trump and congressional Republicans are preparing to clash over the proposed tariffs, which could be as high as 25 percent. A number of German automakers have plants in the U.S., including Mercedes-Benz in Alabama and BMW in South Carolina. http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/390009-trump-to-impose-total-ban-on-luxury-german-cars-report poor Americans and their mediocre cars

Your military is much bigger than Russia, China, and NK combined. EDIT: Still salty about the tariffs between Canada and US over imports. Enjoy your shitty materials! Mythos 3,199
This whole situation is funny, but also kinda horrifying. One idiot can change so much for us Europeans, cause we are in so many different areas dependent on the USA. We use windows/macOS on our computers, we use iOS/Android on our smartphones, our TVs have USA Software, our Speakers etc. All this time i was questioning myself why China doesn't allow WhatsApp, Facebook, Amazon and Co., and to be honest, it's not such a bad idea, sure they do it for other reasons, but maybe it's time for us Europeans to distance ourselves from the USA, cause they don't seem to be so brotherly to us anymore. Don't get salty. The Tarrifs on steel will affect the US WAAAY more than Canada for the simple fact that no one is exempt now Because all Countries imports get slapped with the Tarrifs they can't run away from Canadian Imports of steel and buy European steel instead to avoid it because that has the tax too. We'd only loose exports slightly because of lower consumption (due to higher prices) and whatever their domestic production has the capacity to fill. But we won't loose exports to other Nations because since everyone is slapped with the Tarrifs there's no competitive disadvantage to Canada ATM He's an actual idiot. He's hoping to use this all as leverage the problem is he's taking on the entire world at once. America is a large economy but it's not that large. The European Union alone that he is challenging is a larger economy than America Does he actually think he can win in all of this He had a chance to be a bully when he first started beating up Canada and Mexico over NAFTA (with incorrect facts about trade I might add) but now he's added China, The EU and other Nations to his list of trade wars He's biting off more than he can chew. Other Nations are starting to retaliate and America will slowly isolate itself and shy away from Globalization. Every Nation that isn't open to trade economically does poorly because they don't gain the economic efficiencies of trade because business is done in bulk and therefore cheaper to produce goods and sell them
