why can't we just enjoy the music and forget about charts, sales, and awards?   Pop fans are way too involved in the "politics" of popular culture.  Why would you sacrifice having a good song just because you are afraid it won't win an award.

Sweetie, these people has busy life to remember a little bitter old rant. If that (other) Perry girl, will start another scandal may be that would get their attention but lets face it, there are waaayy more people above who can create bigger impact in someone's Oscar chances.

Some of them want to abuse you, some of them want be abused.

It's as if some of them can't enjoy anything unless they think it's successful!

That J

Nonody even remembers that except for stans plus it isnt much of anything anyway. The voters have bigger things to consider.  Truly,  I wouldnt worry about it.

If Gaga does get an Oscar for a song or anything to do with ASIB, it sure would be cool and get closer to the EGOT but lets just enjoy this ride and whatever happens happens.

I figure it would hurt her chances bc Diane has been nominated 9 times with 0 wins :diane: high hopes thoooooo

Leonardo DiCaprio suffered the same fate, but he won eventually. So let's hope Diane Warren and Lady Gaga get their moment.

The truth is that the Oscars have more to do with politics than talent. Whatever actor or studio successfully self-promotes across various talk shows and media platforms with a "For Your Consideration" campaign and woos over the GP and the industry insiders (i.e. the Academy) ends up being the winner, regardless of talent. Just like government politics, politics in the entertainment industry loves a good scandal. And frankly, I feel like the Linda Perry scandal was what sunk Diane Warren's and LG's Oscar chances last time

TIHTY was a heavily promoted song, while tons of political impact.
