First up in the BTS selfie parade: John Legend. The singer-songwriter has had a busy few weeks, what with the birth of his second child with Chrissy Teigen, son Miles, on May 16 and a performing gig at the May 20 Billboard Music Awards. The latter in particular helps score him his 6,674 percent gain in Twitter mentions, to 526,000 total in the week ending May 24, according to Next Big Sound. At the show, he not only performed his new single “A Good Night,” but also snapped a backstage selfie with BTS, which garnered him a healthy amount of social media interaction.

 

In other BTS-selfie-assisted news, Backstreet Boys debut on the Social 50 at No. 6.

To be fair, insatiable appetites for the boy band’s newest single, “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” helped matters. In addition to a 291 percent boost in Wikipedia views (100,000 views) and 100,000 new YouTube subscribers (up 626 percent), BSB earned 282,000 Twitter reactions and 144,000 mentions, celebrating 10 million views on the “Heart” music video with a May 23 tweet and -- like Legend -- sharing a May 19 selfie with BTS that drove some extra social activity (the band added a hashtag, #BTSB, to commemorate the meeting of the two boy bands).

 

And then there are The Chainsmokers -- no strangers to the BTS selfie game -- who re-enter the Social 50 at No. 16 following their own selfie with the group at the BBMAs, scoring a 1,084 percent gain in Twitter mentions to 47,000 overall.

I think Gaga would like BTS, they co-write and co-produce their own music, and seriously bust their asses with work to make their live work perfect. They push themselves too hard, like Gaga used to do, and she loves meeting new and different people, they should meet at some point!
