Nicki Minaj's Career

  1. 1. Where do you stand on this?

    • Nicki's success is ending. It's just "natural" (stars come and go), not cuz of Cardi

    • Nicki's success is ending. Cardi is the big reason for this

    • Nicki's success is ending cuz of a mix between it being "natural" AND cuz of Cardi

Nicki Minaj has had a very respectable career (success wise) since 2010.

But here we are in 2018.

Her new single Chun-Li has had a mediocre response (chart wise).

Chun-Li (2018) *1 week in Top 10*
1st Week: #92
2nd Week: #10 - PEAK POSITION
3rd Week: #48
4th Week: #50
5th Week: #19
6th Week: #29
7th Week: #28 (still charting)

Nicki isn't getting the big features that Cardi is getting. And the ones she does, don't really do well (since "Side to Side")

This could just be a natural decline for her, but it's hard not to pull Cardi B in to this narrative.

They are literally vying for exposure and Cardi is certainly winning.

There's a new comedy show coming out and in the preview the guy says, "Nicki, when are you going to get your life back from Cardi?" And that's what got me thinking on this issue.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts and opinions on this. Is this the end of Nicki's mainstream success, a little bump, or you think she'll be fine?

As a Nicki stan, I think she's just sort of slumping. 4th album curse, Cardi's current chart reigning, a shift towards only male artist, just a blend of everything. However, her personal singles are rarely as big as her albums. She's always more of an album artist

She's doing fine. Cardi is just younger and new in the game. That's why people love her right now. I still believe Cardi's flow is.. Bad.

I’m actually nice.

I'm intrigued to see how this next album sells and streams.

I don't think this new girl is above her in terms of talent but Nicki is alienating her public with feuds and also overestimating her importance in rap music. Cardi came to the scene doing her thing and Nicki tried to assert her superiority over her. It didn't look good (just like when Madonna tried the same with Gaga). There's also the natural decline all girls in this industry face. It's ironic that when Nicki came out, people were saying Kim was "old" and "over" and now they're doing the same with her. She needs to humble down. Take some time off the internet and stop trying to get a hit with all those pointless singles. I'm not interested in her new album at all after this. She also needs to stop with the Barbie thing. We all know Kim is the original one.

Judas is coming, let the cultural baptism begin.

Actually Nicki's been flopping for a long time now and Cardi just came in time to finish her. Nicki's last top 10 was Anaconda cause of a viral video and that was 5 years ago before Chun Li flopped. She only has 3 top 10's as a lead and Cardi came gave people everything they were missing with Nicki which is being raw talking about stuff that matters to all of us being funny and not so bitter like Minaj so she ended the rest of her.

She have no label support. As we know, Lil'Wayne is on an ongoing feud with Cash Money Records and its owner, Birdman. Cash Money is the label that funds Lil Wayne's label, Young Money Entertainment.

Until this feud is settled, nothing good will be coming for Nicki's career. Lil Wayne himself expressed his concerns that he is fearful Nicki and Drake would left because of the feud.

Drake is smarter, despite being under Young Money, he is also having deals with Apple Music so some party still help him to promote sksksks

I don't know how you guys find that album enjoyable. Starships is just bad music. The Pinkprint was pretty nice.

Funny how people complain about how the media treat women and Gaga but here you are doing it too.
