Gaga was seen as „new Queen of Pop“ and next „Madonna“ while Halsey is seen as annoying tumblr girl who sings with that fake indie-singer-accent. Gaga was the Queen of her peers. I've been thinking lately, that TFM/BTW just barely missed the mark on what is now contemporary social media. Like, yeah Gaga still has a huge following, especially on twitter, but it's almost shocking that a lot of my peers will only remember vague hooks from TF, "rah rah" from TFM, or even her "gay phase". Like, this woman had such an impact not just in pop music, but also in pop culture. The Fame had already become the most successful album in the 2000s and the most successful debut album of this century (still is). The Fame Monster tour became the most successful tour by a debut artist (still is). She had won 5 grammys. Nobody is even close nowadays of what Gaga did in her first years, it's not even just Gaga's huge hits that made her so great and very known worldwide, it's her persona, the way she delivered a performance and like others said, the way her WW tour become a massive success, the way she was conquering all the awards shows and so on.
