Kanye reveals opioid addiction, liposuction procedure

Kanye West had liposuction and started popping painkillers ... all leading up to the 2016 breakdown that landed him in a hospital for more than a week.

Kanye revealed his battle with opioids during his appearance Tuesday on "TMZ Live" ... as he talked about going to visit then President-elect Trump in December of 2016. He says, "I was drugged the f**k out, bro!"

He went on to explain he was addicted to opioids that doctors had prescribed after he had lipo. Kanye says he started taking more pills during the Pablo tour. You'll recall, the tour was cut short in November 2016 due to his hospitalization.

Kanye's got major beef with the amount of meds he was prescribed, and thinks America in general is drugged out.

As for why he had lipo? It couldn't have been an easy decision -- considering the tragic circumstances of his mother's death -- but Kanye says he didn't want to look "fat."  He says that concern traces back to the way he feels the media treated his brother-in-law, Rob Kardashian.

This whole opioid prescription **** is so worrying. It really needs to be sorted out, nobody needs huge amounts of opioids after liposuction... You shouldn't need more than a Panadol (or Tylenol if you are in the U.S - they are the same just different brand names) IF that.

The over prescription of opioids is a MAJOR issue.

I honestly think he has a personality disorder and serious mental health issues but thinks he’s holier than thou to take his medication correctly because of “conspiracies” He’s literally in a manic episode right now. I used to work in mental health and it just screams it.

Nahh - this is just a normal Kanye rant that he does all the time. It's pretty on brand for him as the provocative, polarizing, opinionated, no-holds barred artist he portrays himself as.

I actually like this, him coming to TMZ and calling them out like "Y'all are responsible for this! Y'all pressured me into SURGERY because of how you treated me, my brother-in-law Rob and other celebrities and then they give me opioids that have me drugged out and nearly kill me and Y'all all report on that, laugh at that and call me crazy! I was on OPIOIDS, drugged out, acting a fool because of Y'all"

He stood up and yelled that everyone in the building stop what they are doing and listen to how they drove him to surgery, how they bullied Rob Kardashian so badly he ditched the wedding, how they are responsible for the downfall of the celebrities they then judge and laugh at  

It's one of his better Kanye rants, and a rant I actually agree with.

Edit: Obviously don't agree with his slavery comments though, that isn't featured in this video and I only just learned about it
