What do you think is Rihanna’s most iconic Era. And what I mean is an Era with the best success, best image transformation, videography, Fashion etc.

I’d say it’s GGGB or Rated R (Loud would be a close 3rd tho). GGGB really changed her image just 2 years into her career, and she had a ton of success in it (due to Umbrella) and Rated R was a dark and completely different sound from her and of course was inspired by the Chris Brown incident. And Rated R’s Fashion was so different with its dark theme and imagery. They also both established her short black hair too. Loud on the other hand introduced us to her red hair that inspired a lot of people.

So I’d say GGGB and Rated R are the right answers.

I GUESS Loud and GGGB would be considered since they were both arguably her most commercially successful as a whole with multiple singles topping the charts. That being said I would argue her only non-iconic eras by that definition were her first 2 and Rated R (only due to its overall weak commercial success aside from Rude Boy). I know the fans on pop forums talk up Rated R a lot and personally its in my Rihanna trinity, but as far as commercial success goes it was incredibly weak and on top of that it doesn't hold much footing almost 10 years later, its kind of altogether forgotten again aside from Rude Boy. Its only discernability for the general public would be the fact that its the album she made post-beatdown.

Most iconic era, I would definitely say is LOUD. She was in her PRIME.

GGGB definitely put her at the top... but really just Umbrella and kind of a few others. With LOUD we got Only Girl, S&M, What's My Name, Cheers, etc.. Huge hits. She STAYED relevant. And those music videos!

For fun, personal favorite is Talk That Talk. I have a beautiful connection to that album :smh:
