More to the subject, even though I'm a survivor myself and I find strength in her music and story, her hypocrisy doesn't really bother me that much. I realize that at the time, she was naive at best about the accusations or, at worst, just didn't care...which I don't mind either  I think that we can separate artists' actions and personalities from their music and Gaga respected R. Kelly as the king of R&B and wanted him on her R&B track. If it ended up that Michael was actually a child molester, I'd still find inspiration in his music, what he spoke about, and how he dedicated his time and money to many environmental and humanitarian causes. R. Kelly is an abuser but you bet I'm still going to be jamming to Ignition and Do What U Want in my car 'cause I'm 100% apathetic about the guy as a human being.

Besides, hypocrisy is a human virtue and I don't expect Gaga to be anything but human. I wouldn't call out another artist for saying one thing and doing another and I certainly won't do it for one of my two major icons.

 

 

I wont go into it any further, for risk of being banned from this forum, but the problem isn't that she featured R. Kelly on one song. It wasn't just a one-off performance. She recreated a rape scene with him, while an another alleged rapist filmed it. Her relationship with Kelly and Terry Richardson will remain a glaringly problematic stain on her otherwise very admirable history of activism.
