There are also PLENTY of homophobes in governments of developed nations. Does everyone in the US deserve to be in poverty because half of y’all elected Mike Pence? Overtly simplified generalized are tired and we can do better.

Outside abrahamic religions? Homosexuality is actually usually very accepted or not really given a damn about. Now I admit I don't know much about African mythologies but not all religions are hateful of homosexuality. And even abrahamic hate comes from mistranslations we haven't fixed in 2000 years.

No, of course good people don't deserve to rot in poverty but if the majority of a nation are so bigoted, it's hard to feel bad for them. Also the comparison to Mike Pence isn't really appropriate because while America does have some issues, it's no in the same league as Kenya, a nation that literally imprisons men for years for gay sex.

Kenya is majority christian
