John Krasinski directed the high-concept thriller from a script by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, who have said when asked about a sequel that they have plenty of material left over.

A Quiet Place cost $17 million to make, meaning it will be hugely profitable. The film has defied box-office expectations, even overtaking the big-budget Dwayne Johnson pic Rampage last weekend to come in No. 1 in its third weekend (it opened at No. 1, while coming in No. 2 behind Rampage in its second outing). Platinum Dunes' Andrew Form and Brad Fuller produced.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this movie. It's so good. It's rare to find horror without the ugly sick feeling. And coming from Jim Halpert from The Office was quite unexpected. Hopefully they can deliver on the next, and not make it a laughable mess ie conjuring sequels.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

I really wish they wouldn't. Ending was perfect, the story doesn't need any more.

We need the story where they tell the rest of humanity how to defeat these beasts and exterminate them to save earth

But the novelty of the original was that it was small-scale, just four family members trying to survive the ordeal. It was unique in that regard. By trying to expand the scale, we're getting further away from that.

Of course, because every film that does better than expected deserves to be ruined with a sequel.

I would love a prequel. I want to see how things got to that point.

I have been saying the same for a week now.

If they want to keep Krasinky around they could do it in the form of flashbacks and that could show how the aliens came to rule the place

Yeah I felt the same. And I L O V E Emily Blunt but this film did not showcase her amazing acting skillls (she can do a monologue like no other! see: The Girl On The Train)

Not sure I would go see a sequel to this. The last 20 minutes felt very rushed and they had such a great story to work with
