I never said she was the first period, but she was the first mainstream artist who did a feature and found success in it. A Pop Girl and a Rap Artist being successful. It's not who did it first, but we're talking about the success it got and how it popularized it. 

You clearly didn't read my reply. I never said that she invented R&B inspired Pop Ballads, but her style inspired multiple singers, like the ones I stated. She also still popularized the whispery-falsetto. If you don't like or don't want to see the impact that Mariah has had, simply don't reply. Thank you.

I said 'who found success in it'. It's about the feature. Fantasy debuted at #1 and held that position for a few weeks. It is being recognized as THE crossover song of Pop and Hip Hop.

???? I am talking about Pop/Rap Crossovers and the impact Fantasy had in this Category. I never talked about Crossovers in general, I feel like you don't even want to see what Mariah has done.

Maybe on Mars. Mariah was the first female artist in Billboard history to debut at #1 on the Hot 100 with the Fantasy remix and she is credited for making rap-pop collaborations mainstream. Fantasy was a massive hit, way bigger than Walk This Way, so no, it wasn't more important. Stop trying to take away credit from her, she has done a lot for the music industry.
