Bloodyjack 794
Yes that's right hunties it's over overrated thread. I would just like to say I love Blondie (Debbie Harry) and I think her voice was beautiful but I'm just sick to death of her status as a punk icon. I personally consider her softcore new wave or pop rock but punk.. really queen. Everytime I watch her she's just standing in a cheap leather and mini skirt singing love songs and your telling me she's the queen of punk over Joan Jett, lita Ford, Pat benetar etc. And don't even get me started on her recent performance efforts, I mean I know she's 72 and I respect that she's trying but if you can't perform don't perform. Especially for the insane amounts of money she charges. Anyway what do you guys think?
Noah 26,972
This Opinion seems so mature, are you an adult? OT: I love Blondie, she may be mainstream but she really laid a foundation for mainstream-punk. Thus, her legacy shall be respected. ⟡ ⋆ ˚。⋆🦢⋆ ˚。⋆⟡

Gov Hooka 8,008
So many people wrongly classify them as punk so I get where you’re coming from. Before Parallel Lines, with the breakthrough discoish single Heart of Glass, they were more punk sounding

For example, Pat Benetar and Joan Jett didn’t release solo albums in the genre till after Blondie. Moreover, while the Runaways released their debut at a similar time, they never achieved the chart success Blondie attained.
