Metacritic isn’t the BEST indicator but it’s the more reliable and quantitative one. BEP’s first 2 albums, similar to Migos’s Culture and Culture II, had 7x and 6x marks respectively. I don’t see how Migos are significantly more critically acclaimed than BEP. BEP definitely brought EDM/Rap Talk music to mainstream by starting a trend. Artists like Kesha used to make similar genre of music after BEP’s success. I listen to quite some rap music too I would say Migos undeniably created a trend. I would only call them influential when in 10 years time some new rappers said they wanted to become a rapper because of Migos and more cite them as influences. If it encourages you, I have to say that I agree. Migos are a monster and took everyone by surprise, completely whiping the floor with all less popular rappers and stole the spotlight. I don't know if they will be legendary, but at least some people will remember them.
