Oh my god, she can do whatever she wants and gets "slammed" for it out of pure bias. She just covered the song and made it her own version. Basically what a cover is all about. But whatever, she has the bias against her that katy had against her the whole witness era and that gaga had the whole ARTPOP era, whatever they do is **** and SOMEHOW offensive like ****ing chill. She's a human being with feelings too. Do those people feel better when they talk smack about someone? That's honestly so ****ing sad. Let's see them achieve even a fracture that she has achieved with that toxic attitude

She didn’t “disrespect” it...she just failed in her interpretation of it. I don’t know how its even possible to make that song not an earworm bop, but she did. :emma:

Why do consider Buzzfeed as a journal? This site is run by some aristocrat snobbish people.

The cover is not very good (it's not awful either) but these people bashing her are doing the absolute most, let the poor sis live and release a cover that tastes like unseasoned chicken jfc she's not harming anyone

I never said only in 2018?? Of course complaints have always been a thing, however, In the climate we are in in 2018 it’s a lot easier and has become the norm for people to berate, critique, and slander situations that are not of importance. As a black person, I know my people and I’m annoyed by the black people who are trying to use any situation to seem woke or like an activist. Calling Taylor unseasoned chicken all day on Twitter is nowhere near woke or progressive. They’d rather make Taylor trend than support unknown black artists or black struggling black businesses... too worried about Twitter and getting likes to seem important as a “woke” twitter account. That is why I commented what I did.

But the general consensus is that suddenly people are against this wave of people saying whatever they want. The point wasn't trying to be specific about only 2018. The point was that people have always been sensitive towards stuff and not just exclusive to today. There are much worse things to bash then The Root. Let's place our focus there. People love to joke about SJWs and fake wokeness but tend to not be at the party when just voices are needed in real situations. I'm not specifically talking about you, but this is the other side to your point. The focus needs to be redirected on both sides of this particular issue.

They used to love her. Now they don't :bon:

Delicate is still a chill bop. But her cover of September...is not :poot:

The cover wasn't bad at all. I didn't bother reading the article but the writer is probably a pressed Taylor hater.

It's not even bad...

No one will ever do the original justice imo, but it's NOT a bad cover and that's the that on that. These people need a new hobby
