First of all, I didn’t say anything about your race. I’m talking specifically about people’s inability to appreciate other genres. I mean, some genres are so moving for people that they become a sense of identity and culture or become part of a certain cultural group. But if YOU want to get into race, you cannot deny that white people and especially white Europeans have historically held rap in contempt and view it as beneath the standard of what they consider art or creative. We are not the ones being devisive - the ones being devisive are the people who continuously feel the need to trash talk rap or reggaeton or Kpop and say “they don’t get the hype.” Like, lol, you don’t need to get the Hype. The hype is there with or without your consent. How arrogant of people to say that pop music is dead just because genres of other cultures, which they do not understand, are becoming more accepted and mainstream. ordinarynam1310 2,453
And somehow y'all still find a way to bring race into this thread. It's not that big of a deal to begin with.
