This is getting very intense! So basically while Provinces going beyond their legal powers has been a decades long issue, for Political reasons the Federal government of Canada generally overlooks this and let's them be. Now with the pipeline dispute the Government may finally choose to use a legal tool. A Federal Lawyer has explained that Canada could declare a state of social emergency and enforce law by force... If British Columbia still does not back down in blocking the pipeline which is under Federal Jurisdiction, the Government of British Columbia would be removed for 1 year and the Province would be run by the Federal Government On the flip side, Albertas threats to cut off Oil supply to BC next week are also unconstitutional and under the same law could also see it's Government removed for 1 year if they also did not stand down after the order was drafted Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
