If she were relying on her rap talent alone she would've been dead a long time ago. Not to mention her COMPLETE lack of originality and quality. She literally ripped fame era Lady Gaga for nearly the entirety of the Pink Friday and Roman Reloaded eras and no one can even acknowledge that. It all becomes a discussion of racism and misogyny which is so convenient. She can be as mediocre and sh*tty as she wants and everyone ignores that and wants to simply applaud her for existing.

Like all that drama over Anaconda not being nominated for video of the year and its like uh Beyonce and Bruno were both nominated and they're both poc. It has nothing to do with your color or your ass. Anaconda was just a joke. And it wasnt even a clever joke either. It was pure trash. And yeah maybe it could have been nominated but at the end of the day its just a VMA like why does it even matter. This isnt 1996 when VMAs actually had some semblance of faux-prestige

 

U make great points. Everyone really does seem to ignore that Nicki got big with pop songs. Cardi is actually getting big with rap songs. And i don’t think anyone can deny that Cardi has a better personality than Nicki
