HISTORY AND NOTES
Lady Gaga's very first single was released on April 8, 2008 from her debut album, The Fame. The song featured Colby O'Donis and achieved some succes during the summer of 2008, peaking at #2 on Hot Dance Airplay and Dance Club Songs. " Just Dance" first appeared on the Bubbling Under the Hot 100 chart at #1 on August 2, 2008, before making its first appearence on the Hot 100 at #76 two weeks later.

The single was a sleeper-hit and spent a total of 22 weeks inside the Hot 100, before hitting the #1 spot. It had the longest climb to number one since Creed's "With Arms Wide Open" took 27 weeks before finally reaching number one in November 2000. "Just Dance" spent 3 weeks at #1, 19 consecutive weeks inside the Top 10 and a total of 49 weeks in the Hot 100, becoming her longest-running single in the USA.

Is it too much to ask for Gaga to dominate again, at least once more? The joy of seeing someone you support slaying everyone... It just isn't comparable to anything. These were the times I would go straight to billboard.com every refresh on thursdays just to see how well my lady was doing. And all the songs on the charts weren't **** too. The songs were there because they were iconic and GOOD. Now, half the songs on the charts are so forgettable and similar sounding that it doesn't excite me to even know half of them. Can we please bring it back Gaga? Just one more era of domination and theatrics? Can we? Please?

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Theatrics - She served it at the Joanne World Tour, Superbowl, Coachella and John Wayne video.

Charts - Well at least we have Grammy nominations. :emma:

She was being Lady Gaga the person not Lady Gaga the character during Joanne. I guess I misworded. I meant Avant Garde, Extra, and Weird. And see her slay while she's breaking all the rules. It's just fascinating to see her get away with things that are generally looked upon by society.

As someone who thoroughly enjoyed the Joanne era, I don't think it's too important to differentiate between 'Gaga the character' and 'Gaga the person'. I feel like, she was just being Lady Gaga as usual, maybe slightly toned down a little bit, but her body of work was very enjoyable to me.

In Gaga: Five Foot Two, Gaga asked her friend if she thought the fans would be disappointed because she wasn't avant-garde enough or in high fashion, I'm that kind of fan who is pleased by both the Perfect Illusion and Million Reasons videos, therefore I don't see that big of a problem with it.

Saade Baena

I remember hearing this iconic song here in Brazil in December 2008, which corresponds to our summer in the southern hemisphere. It was an overflow.

Oh don't get me wrong bro, I LOVED Joanne. I really do. It's just nostalgia talking, you know? I loved the enigma that was Gaga and the fact that everyone was awaiting everything she would do next was just amazing. I would be here till the end, regardless of what direction she takes. I just MISS her back then and what she stood for. In my rational mind, I know that that can't be sustainable, but I just miss it. :diane:

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊
