Today, Google announced it met the goal last year of matching all of its global energy usage with purchases of renewable energy. This does not mean Google's facilities all run on 100% renewable energy [...] Google has offset its non-renewable usage by financing wind and solar power farms. This milestone is just impressive to me Of course this was only possible thanks to Google huge treasury and self-consciousness and not every company could afford that. imwoahvicky 4,248 Posted April 5, 2018 Share Posted April 5, 2018 other companies are totally capable of doing what Google has done such as Microsoft and Amazon, which are both run by people who are worth more Google and also the company themselves worth more than Google (obviously) Amazon is run by a greedy owner so I'm not surprised if he wouldn't invest too much money in renewable energy when the workers are basically slaves just like Apple although what he has done is still great, but he can do so much more with the power/money he possesses ⚜ Roll Deep ⚜ Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think one of the best things that could come out of this is the example it will set for others tech companies to follow since it's proven as possible while being economically sustainable. Google should now focus on making their products more energy efficient. Android and Chrome use a lot more resources than competing products, which results in higher CPU usage, lower performance, and thus more energy being wasted.
