From Billboard :

TODAY shared the exclusive video on Wednesday morning (April 4), where Hov opened up about the time Blue Ivy said he hurt her feelings. "I told her to get in the car the other day because she was asking a thousand questions and we had to leave for school," he recalled. Hov and Blue entered the car and started making their way to school before Blue tapped her father to express how she felt. "I just hear a little voice [say], 'Dad, I didn't like the way you told me to get in the car the way you told me,' -- she's six -- 'It hurt my feelings.'"

Hov was touched by his daughter's honesty and told her, "That's the most beautiful thing you've ever said to me."

If I said that to my parents at that age they'd reply with "Get out of the car, you're walking today" :rip:

Exactly, and I'd be happy it stayed just at that.

She seems like a spoiled brat.

If i said that to my parents they’d tell me to shut the hell up and get my baby ass to school.

My parents would of thrown a sandal at me followed by "Did that hurt too!?!'

I can see Jay Z saying get in the car harshly, being annoyed by all of her questions etc. Kids are sensitive and she’s just letting him know it hurt her feelings. I don’t see anything bratty about it personally, but I also don’t understand how it’s the most beautiful thing she’s ever said to him

I agree with some of the posts, my parents wouldn't be so nice about this.

But it got me thinking. She didn't say it in a rude way, she just said it like a grown-up would say. So why are we so quick to say she's spoiled or she's a brat if she's just being mature?

I remember I didn't like my parents treating me like a kid growing up. Yea, I was a kid, but I felt like I deserved to be listened to once in a while. Instead of having chances to be mature, I remain stuck in the kid 'place'. Then a few years later, they would tell me to grow up already. I don't get it.

TDLR; If a kid acts like an adult, don't be so quick to judge.

I fell down the stairs once as an actor.

why are people calling her a brat when she just openly confessed her feelings to her father? that's AMAZING parenting :saladga:

what kind of parent would shame or get mad at their child for saying "this hurt my feelings"? children have thoughts and developing minds and to be encouraging Blue that it's okay for her to say if something if it's bothering her is great

do you know what i would give to be mentally well enough to be able to speak to my parents like that? :/

Let's just hope the people in here never become parents cuz they seem like they would emotionally f*ck up their children just for the sh*ts and giggles of it.

Shouldn't people be happy that Jay-Z is being a good father to Blue by allowing her to express her feelings and opinion?

I understand that we all growing up from different times, and many of us are also growing up in toxic environment, and that is EXACTLY WHY, instead of wishing for Blue Ivy to be treated the way you do, we should be happy many more parents exercise this kind of thing to their kids today, it is very healthy,
