Easy 5,296 Posted March 30, 2018 Share Posted March 30, 2018 I just came back from The Witness: The Tour Hong Kong show. It’s the most fun concert I have been to in a while. I strongly believed the flop rumours and expected around 20% of empty seats. However, I think this show should be considered sold out. Less than 10 singles seats aren’t sold and GA was packed as hell. She started the show with Witness and Roulette as usual. It was unexpected that half of the crowd at least knows the chorus of these Witness bops. Truly an international queen! After Dark Horse, the crowd went nuts. I’m pretty sure 90% of the audiences sang all the words to the later songs. Maybe slightly less loud during Deja Vu and Tsunami but it was wayyyyyy better than the Rebel Heart Tour, which audiences only sang Like A Virgin loud and proud. This is the part that bugs me the most. Maybe Katy loved our energy so much. She actually belted out a lot of ad libs and did a bunch of cool vocal runs. Pretty pitched perfect I’d say. It really deserves a B+ or even A- for vocals. Unlike what the GGD thinks of her, she isn’t bad AT ALL. I think she really improved after Prismatic World Tour. The only part that made me feel uninterested was when Katy insensitively wanted to speak Mandarin to us. After what Hong Kong has gone through, (especially the gays are usually not pro-China) it’s extremely offensive to use Mandarin instead of Cantonese. She self corrected and performed a head stand for apology. As cringey as the head stand might be, it pleased the audiences. However, the same thing happened, she later accidentally invited a non-Hong Kong local on stage when she explicitly asked for a local. Uh-oh. Another Mainland Chinese, 80% of the people at my zone booed so loud I almost feel bad for the fan. It was cringe at max when that fan mentioned Taobao and Alibaba. My friend was raging and wanted to leave the venue. I insisted to stay coz 1. It wasn’t Katy’s fault, she couldn’t tell whether a person is a local or Chinese just by looking 2. I really wanted that Firework encore moment. So glad I stayed. The Firwork encore was flawless. Energetic and loud and everything a pop concert should be. She also debuted a new dress which feels very 60s Hong Kong. WE LOVED IT. What I’m trying to say is, Katy has fun shows and has enough talent. And stop shaming her, she sold out a major venue which Madonna and Gaga also played before. found this on instagram: THAT DRESS AND EARRINGS ARE FLAWLESS. They went to the Anti World Tour, Dangerous Woman Tour and Joanne World Tour with me. They all agreed that the Katy one is second most entertaining after JWT. We literally needed so much alcohol and drugs to enjoy the first 5 songs of DW Tour. But all of that aside, it’s well-known that her shows are top-notch when it comes to production (the lights, the props, the interludes, the dancers, etc. are always FIRE) and she generally has a very carefree and fun attitude.
