The NewNowNext awards were advertising Lady Gaga performing for the first time on tv. I had just watched the movie Factory Girl and she reminded me of a female warhol so I tuned into her performance and fell in love with her. The rest is history. I found my pop star! I was like okay whatever idc. Fast forward two days later. On a bus ride, going home, listening to music and Poker Face comes on. I WAS SHOOK. SHOOK. SHOOK. Lady Palutena 3,147 Posted March 28, 2018 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Oh boy, my story is a little less glamorous than some; basically, I was arrested for attempting suicide and I heard Just Dance and Poker Face on the radio in jail. I thought it was Gwen Stefani at first so when I was released, I looked up the title "Just Dance" and discovered it wasn't Gwen at all, but some chick named Lady GaGa. But then I remembered that for Christmas that year, my father had given me an mp3 player with all these different songs on there and I remembered seeing "Lady GaGa" as a contributing artist and the songs "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" So I listened to the song then I found Poker Face and listened to that, loved the sound and her voice so I found and watched interviews of her and her performance in an Ikea parking lot and I thought, "wow, this chick is smart, she's so real, I love her message and I love her music." So I bought "The Fame" with my own hard-earned money from a job I took as an office helper--I still have the album too--and the rest, is history. Adoremus in caelum, Palutena. Dea luminis. Then i realized it was not Christina Aguilera. The Bad Romance leak, the VMA performance, and her love for techy stuff made me a fan. I can't remember what song it was I heard first, but I was out on Myspace and saw this cool girl making interesting pop music and I got hooked. I'm one of those people that gets angry when hipster girls wear metal shirts of bands they don't even know and I was like daaaaamn am i now one of those people? Then early 2009 my friend in 4th grade told me about Poker Face then I went home and checked it out and loved it then I bought Starstruck as well, then later that month for my 10th birthday my mom bought me The Fame I still have the original CD, it's scratched and **** now but I keep it for memories.
