Was Justin Timberlake the first?

As you can clearly see from this interview, the debut single of the career of Justin Timberlake flopped so much that Barbara Walters, one of the most famous journalists in world history, almost completely ignores it and treats it like trash.

That being said, was Justin Timberlake the first boyfriend boy-band member of a popular platinum/diamond selling boyband to never cheat with, flirt with or kiss another girl in the history of the world, as both interviews implied?

Is there also a reason Britney Spears is not credited for creating the solo career of Justin Timberlake????

Wait, the debut single of Justin Timberlake's career is Like I Love You, a massive hit, am I right? Why did you say it flopped?

Can I just point out how britney's breakdown in that video is kind of scary? (at 4:55) like it almost seemed like she was talking to someone else

First signs of her bipolar disorder tbh and the way she said "strong Britney" while fake laughing it was just heartbreaking, and I can relate so much :( gosh Brit went through a lot

I'm not an expert in what went through their relationship, but I believe around 2000-2001 Justin cheated a few times on Britney with some other girls thinking she wouldn't discover, but she did and wrote some songs about it (Lonely from Britney for example). At some point Britney cheated on him, because she was sick and tired of his cheating ass I assume) and that did blew up :saladga: She hooked up with a member of her team I think

It was never a massive hit and hardly had any impact. ( It didn't even chart in the top 10 in the US)  The evidence is blatant in this interview.

How can Barbara Walters, one of the most famous journalists in world history, almost completely ignore it in this interview and treat it like garbage if it was some massive hit?

Britney Spears should be rightly credited for creating the solo career of Justin Timberlake.

For the record, 'Cry Me a River' is a great music video but fair is fair and facts are facts: Britney Spears created Justin Timberlake's solo career.  He never would have made it big without that video.

His debut single was so insignificant that Barbara Walters, one of the most well-known journalists in world history, ignores it.

I don't get it. She mentions "Like I Love You" at the 7:00 mark and shows the video too.

Like I Love You came out at a time when a #11 peak was still regarded as a hit. I can't at you calling that song a flop when it peaked at #11. Mess!

If a #11 position is a flop, then what about half of Britney's singles like Lucky (#23), I'm A Slave 4 U (#27) or Everytime (#15)? Stronger peaked at #11 as well.

If Like I Love You is a flop then so are Britney's songs LOL.

You make me laugh, Barbara have always been like that in her interviews. That is her shtick. Besides, if you weren't there and just making assumptions then it is not facts. Because,  based on first hand experience, his solo debut was all over the radio, and it was topping charts on MTV TRL, a TV show that mattered back in the day. He released his album when N*SYNC was still popular, just not long after their final album, CELEBRITY. He did got some press. And many good and positive reviews for the debut single. And that is something relevant, because at that time, people just got enough with boybands and anything to do with it was mocked severely. But they let JT thrive by giving him a chance, something that they don't give to his band mate, JC Chazes who also tried to build career on his own, nor to another popular member from rival boyband, BSB, Nick Carter, which both solo debut tanked severely.

More over, this song also pave the way for the producer, The Neptunes, to be known by the public. Especially one of them, Pharrell Williams.

You can try to diss JT all you like,  but please next time learn the actual history before the yapping.
