Green party leader Elizabeth May along with other MPs were arrested along with hundreds of others over protests on an Oil pipeline While protests themselves are allowed, the Court ruled that it would no longer tolerate road blockades or people standing in front of machines any longer and an order putting a limit on how close protestors could get to construction was put in place After being released Party Leader May said she was aware of the risks as were everyone else involved Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Economy 52,861 Posted March 23, 2018 Author Share Posted March 23, 2018 My opinion on the matter is that a transition towards a greener economy is both admirable and necessary... However selling oil for half price because of transportation constrains, loosing Billions a year in tax revenue and not being able to build a single large infrastructure project in nearly 10 years is also unacceptable We've been blocking every single project here in Canada and the result is the US and other Countries take market share while we're stuck selling oil for peanuts with huge discounts. He never gets involved in controversy because he can't take the criticism BC and Alberta are in an outright trade war with Alberta now upping it's game and threating to cut off Oil and Gas to BC and leaving them in the dark over this Trudeau is avoiding this issue like a plague when the Federal Government is suppostu take a stance when issues like this happen He'd rather let it get out of hand so he can stay neutral then take a side and then risk loosing political support from one of the sides He tries way too hard to please and in the end it's all talk Ok he's pushing for pot legalization.
