From last Thursday to Friday US debt rose by $73 Billion surpassing the $21 Trillion mark

US debt has increased nearly $1 Trillion in the past 6 months alone

The debt is currently rising 36% faster than the economy meaning the debt to GDP ratio that is already above 100% will continue to rise

Ironically, the "conservatives" are running up the deficit faster and with no end in sight.

Thanks Obama :derpga:

JK

I think people can finally start blaming T***p on this one, right? Given the time frame?

EDIT: On topic, I've always pondered about the next "crash" like the recession of '08 with the housing market to be Student Debt.  Is that a possibility?  I'm only in the social sciences so I suck at econ.

Students own few of the assets in overall economy to cause a sudden crash

I picture student debt being more like a drag on the economy that gets worse overtime as you get delayed household formation and delayed home purchases as new generation is forced to make these steps in life at a later age than previous generations

The good sis Trumpland. I mean they always somehow stay looking rich and powerful, and all the other countries can do is just give them the look. :neyde:

Who we in debt to

Everyone lol

Governments sell bonds to raise their borrowed money and anyone can invest in it... Financial institutions, individual investors, mutual funds, even other Countries if they have a wealth fund

Even pension funds often invest in Government debt. If you have ever worked and deducted for retirement, a portion of that may have been used to lend to the Government and you wouldn't even be aware of it
