I always had the impression that the lyrics was written to tell about Gaga's relationship with Taylor by the time they were splitting up.. But there's this part of this song: "Got a baby sister Who looks just like me She wants nothing more than a man to please Maybe she's in too deep Her love for him ain't cheap But it breaks just like a knockoff piece from Fulton Street" and I was very confused by why is Natali in the f*cking song (???) it makes no sense !! And then I thought: what if Gaga's "baby sister" is a reference to a woman that had an affair with Taylor while he and Gags were together ?? It would make perfect sense to the lyric of the song !! What do u guys think ? Discuss sis I think that Joanne is an album that Gaga made for healing in so many aspects of her life and career.. it's so beautiful.. that's why it is my favorite one by her (Also I have to say that I believe that Perfect Illusion also talks about Gaga's relationship with Taylor, and not about that social media's bullsh*t that was told to us) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I could see the analogy fitting to every part but that. Beyoncé used, for example, "Becky with the good hair", and although it didn't explicitly say mistress, people knew. Your theory makes sense especially when I read through the lyrics with the way Gaga sings them with that sort of angry, gritted teeth emotion. But as somebody else says, baby sister is a weird term to use. I agree with the meaning behind Perfect Illusion. I just wish she'd stand by her art and not make up phony explanations. Quoted myself for elaboration. I've been listening to the song again. Gaga is the sinner saying her prayer. So she's the one who did the bad thing and ended it. I don't think the baby sister refers to the mistress. I think it is about her sister. I'm not really sure what she means in that whole verse though but I think I understand the rest of the song. I know it's weird, but I think she did the sister's allusion on purpose, cause although Gaga likes to express her feelings on her songs, she didn't want to pass the image of it to the public ala Taylor Swift, that's why she told that Perfect Illusion is about social medial for example... but of course it's all assumptions that I'm making..
