RadioIsOurs 13,876
And no, it isn't because of the lack of Camila. Before she left, I don't even remember that many people saying that she's the 'stand-out' of the group. In fact, many were talking about how her voice is annoying. If Lauren or Normani left they still would have died. The real reason was because: 1) Their latest album blew - I did not even listen to the whole thing but the singles themselves were boring and uninspired. They failed to gain traction and hence the album flopped. 2) Camila's departure damaged their reputation™ - Whenever somebody leaves a group (unless that member is a nobody), people will never look at them the same way again; they look 'incomplete' and a former shell of themselves. People will infer that the behind the scenes dynamics of the group are poor and the illusion of a cohesive group will be lost. Also, the handling of her departure on social media was a fiasco and made 5H look mismanaged. 3) Groups usually never last long after a departure anyways - Spice Girls, Take That, One Direction etc. Even if they achieve some level of success after that, for some reason they just don't last. Could it be a curse? 4) They were falling even before that - After Work from Home, their singles weren't that successful, and 7/27 didn't chart that well either. Camila probably knew that they were sinking and decided to jump ship first. 5) The pop landscape has changed rapidly - When they last achieved success, the pop landscape was already shifting towards male-dominated hip hop and EDM due to streaming. No more gaudy image and pop appeal. Girl groups like 5H just don't fit in. 6) It was a battle between Camila and 5H - Remember when she first started after leaving 5H, Camila was still struggling to chart. But Havana came in and just blew everything out the water. From then on, 5H was just completely overshadowed by it and their current material had no chance of sharing the spotlight. 7) They depended on US - Unlike Little Mix which depended more on international appeal, 5H had more success in America. So when the US went too far up it's own ass and gave up on 5H, they didn't really have anywhere else to belong to and were overshadowed by Little Mix. brit4ever 2,034
I still don't know their names appart from Camila and Normani(?)...... They were basic and brought nothing new whatsoever, they were destined to fall appart anyways. Camila was smart to leave early and establish a career from the controversy, the others are most likely going to disappear within 1-2 years. The first to leave the group is the one that receives the solo success, JT, Beyonce, Zayn, but sometimes even they disappear later on(like the girls from Spice Girls, I know only Victoria Beckham from them ). Also most pop groups don't have more than 3, maximum 4 albums, before falling appart, their time has come.
Lextyr97 19,908
I find Fifth Harmony just bad to begin with so I wouldn't have been surprised if they died out having all members

They were already flopping before she left. But the act of her leaving might have made things worse.
CyanDante 6,072
I actually used to like Fifth Harmony! Loved Reflection and 7/27 as well, almost all of the songs were fine! But after Camila left, the newer album was so I just gave it a one listen and that was it Their sound almost changed and the it factor wasn't there for me anymore So i feel Camila leaving is a big reason why they flopped I'm not very good with Social Mediaᵀᴹ

It's just a coincidence. I think they wanted to be more trendy and mellow but just ended up being boring.

I think Camila's voice made the group stand out (for right reasons ofcourse ) Their biggest two songs were the ones with Camila having the max parts I'm not very good with Social Mediaᵀᴹ
DiscoHeaven23 35,007
good analysis i think the biggest thing is that they were a flash in a pan. "Worth It" and "Work from Home" were their only big hits, released in order, out of the many they released. One era wonders have had more hits. Camila was smart to leave when she did. She saw that "All in my Head" and "That's My Girl" underperformed. I would've left when she did
Dunk96 2,526
They were just a flash in the pan group that had minor success but in the long run one member pulling a Geri Halliwell/Ginger Spice killed everything.
