Arturo 40,746
22 NICKI MINAJ Pound The Alarm +0.897 Sorry Minaj fans, it's not gonna become a big hit. Yeah, I don't see it picking up that much.... Maybe it was because of the **** video! I've only heard it once on radio :toofloppy: And like hundreds of other people, it took me a few seconds to distinguish it as PTA :toofunny:
jhonyguy04 3
It worries me that PTA is not gonna smash. It's gonna be hard for Gaga to get those hits, especially past the leading single.and I think Katy is gonna make it to number one cause Elle's sales are falling. RabbitHeart 793
Please look through it, it took me a long ass time to type because my computer wouldn't let me copy or paste anything (I have no clue why). As you can see, these numbers are from June 19, 2012 so some of these albums have declined in position. I'm happy to see that BTW sold a solid and healthy 6.3 million copies WW along with One Direction (whose album crossed the 3 million mark by now) and Lana del Rey (Who has crossed the 2 million mark by now) and Adele ( ). I can't believe Lana is as high as she is. And I seriously hope and pray that 21 won't be the best selling album of this year too but it doesn't seem likely
CoolTrainerTerry 1,323
While Blow Me is at 12, the clean version was in the 70s, the last time I checked. That is excessive. Then attempts to censor sh*t ruin the flow of the song on radio, and I start hearing every word that sounds remotely like sit, hit, it, st... as ****. You think I'm just too serious, I think you're full of ..it (might as well say **** again) In the explicit version, she does say ****, though. Americano 31,061
Yeah Coldplay's album sales are amazing. They're still promoting MX with singles so I think it can get to 6 Million BTW/The Fame is the standard for mainstream pop albums, which is a great thing for Gaga. (Sales wise) Adele is a freak exception that won't be repeated for years Edited August 11, 2012 by Americano

Klou 2,414
I find it interesting that Katy is getting positive updates on radio again ever since the price was cut on iTunes. Capital is really something else...

Gaga is unlikely to give us a 2nd single that sounds so much like the 1st. And white girls into Gaga and Katy may not be so keen on generic dance tunes from some rapper turned singer.. Americano 31,061
I knew PTA was a bad choice from the start. It's literally Starships 2.0 And a ****ty ass video didn't help her cause

It's literally Starships 2.0 And a ****ty ass video didn't help her cause My friend actually asked me if all Nicki's singles were going to sound like that. Va Va Voom was the better choice. Cherry 17
I knew PTA was a bad choice from the start. It's literally Starships 2.0 And a ****ty ass video didn't help her cause Nicki's decision to go pop at all was a bad choice in itself. She lost pretty much all of her street cred to chase after an audience that doesn't buy albums.
Ozzy8923 9
Nicki's decision to go pop at all was a bad choice in itself. She lost pretty much all of her street cred to chase after an audience that doesn't buy albums. Very good point. I was debating (with myself ) whether or not moving into Pop was a good choice for Nicki and you made a great point. Album sales are better than single sales, and Hip-Hop fanatics tend to buy albums more than singles and the opposite can be said for pop fanatics (most of them at least). Even though the lead single from PF:RR sold about 5 million copies WW and did well and MUCH better than the lead single from Pink Friday, her debut sold three times as much in the US than her sophomore record, which outweighs all the single sales from Starships and PTA. Basically, her label and her are losing money (Which would explain why I see Nicki Minaj in all the advertisements on TV ).

Should be nicely varied musically with such a range of producers and influences.
