aaronyoji 2,055
hearing her explain the tour in such detail UGH i gush. the story is so nice and well orchestrated, i love the idea of the born this way ball being "star wars episode 1" and you can see all her old outfits, and sort of creates this fantastic "creation of gaga" and her renegade alien persona being a metaphor for being a rogue act in pop. hELXIG 43,224
This is why the BTW ball made me a mega fan for life I'd never seen something like it before and never felt so inspired before in my life. And to know that it all came from her just made me feel so close and connected to her and her brilliant mind, in a time where I thought that maybe noone would ever understand me. I still love Gaga to this day I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
thedirtymonster 714
This is the Gaga I came to love. She was SO passionate and SO intimately connected to her fans at this point of her career. It showed in interviews, performances, her MUSIC, just everywhere. Her passion was infectious and undeniable. I have felt like there's been a sort-of disconnect since her hip injury. Perhaps she knows she can't push like she did in the BTWBall era anymore and maybe feels a little bit disappointed in herself that she's not able to give us THIS anymore due to physical constraints. You're forgetting all of ARTPOP. It had all of that same passion and intimacy where everything she did had a meaning behind it. The amount of passion and creativity and detail she poured into all aspects of ARTPOP was probably more than she did for Born This Way. Joanne is the only era that's been different and I think it's due to the intrinsic nature of such an album (and not some sort of "she's a different person/artist now" thing).
