Trumps own advisors acknowledge that the US actually has a trade surplus with Canada when factoring in all trade including services not just physical goods

In fact Canada is one of the few Countries that buys more US goods and services than they sell to the US

Still Trump maintains to his base that NAFTA is a bad deal for the US and that a trade deficit exists even tho it does not

I think he legit just speaks his beliefs as facts without double checking statistics to make sure he's actually correct and when hes called out on misinformation he's not humble enough to admit he was mistaken

Our politicians here in Canada when they talk about the trade negotiations they complain this is the first time they had negotiations where they spend almost as much time correcting misinformation or incorrect statics that's used against them than actually discussing trade itself :air:

It is so frustrating. It's either his way or the highway.

NAFTA is not the devil here. When supporters argued he has business experience, I wonder why he's so bad at this. Fact checks are necessary, and doesn't make you stupider if you research.

He inherited his businesses and by the time he got them it was large enough to have a board with advisors who could help him

On his own he'd probably never have started or maintained any successful empire tbh

I read Fire and Fury and he does have some burst of anger. He also doesn't listen during meetings, he hates powerpoints and serious talk, so most of his "colleagues" have to make it fun and energetic and very simple, like you would to a 4 year old. If you catch his attention, you have to make him agree or see the fact, to do that you have to present it as a "mission" that he's going to complete, and as a result he will make x and y and be a "winner". I'm not even kidding... It's how the White House works right now

Exactly. I don't know where supporters got their info from.
