So, the first day's performance is a whole different ball game now. But I still don't think they did this badly. I distinctly remember NO doing better than this.

NO was #32 after 15 hours of release. It eventually topped iTunes 7 days later. (NE is now #35 after 9 hours, without a radio deal and Hot Tracks like NO had too)

Me Too peaked at #81 first day. It eventually reached #2 a few weeks later.

So I rest my case.

I stand here waiting for you to bang the gong. To crash the critic saying: "Is it right or is it wrong?" :ladyhaha:

You'd better chill. All you do on this site is criticize the vast majority of musicians and judging from your comments, you must be a negative person. It's just a pure pop song you can dance and sing along to. There's no depth to it and why should it be? At least she is not pretentious and doesn't attempt to put some irrational meaning behind it like all the Instagram filters are just a perfect illusion. She has had quite a few pretty successful singles and she will do just fine. You don't need to worry about her ;)

I will not stop doing what I enjoy because a few people can't take a bit of character building negativity. Music is terrible right now, why should I lower my standards just to be nice? I'm actually a very nice person in general, it's just that I'm so passionate about music that I really take nothing but the best and artists are paid a crazy amount of money, so they'd better deliver quality. It's not a song I can dance and sing along to. It's not enjoyable enough for that. And who says pop music can't be deep? This is why the genre gets a bad rep because its fans expect too little. If we want to make it better, we need to start upping our standards. And you can make a song with meaning without being pretentious.

I like the duration actually, not every damn single has to be around 3-4 mins

Listen to my debut pop single 'Want You Bad'! (link on Insta)

I was kind of hoping she was going to up her game, find her voice/aesthetic, and produce a mature-pop banger album. Guess not...

She released the singles from her follow-up album a year after her debut. She was striking while the iron was hot. That makes all the difference. But its approaching 2 years since her second album was released. The third album is the ultimate test for a new act, especially nowadays. The final single, Better, flopped into oblivion and I'm A Lady flopped even harder and didn't even pull her fans in (and this was despite the song being from a movie that made just under $200 million and Meghan voicing one of the characters). Both videos flopped terribly too. So, the first day's performance is a whole different ball game now. But I still don't think they did this badly. I distinctly remember NO doing better than this.

She’s #9 on iTunes rn, let’s see what happens
