I'm OK with Alanis winning AOTY, but I am certainly not OK with Joni Mitchel winning Pop Vocal Album or One Sweet Day losing to Have I Told You Lately. And sorry but Fantasy was groundbreaking especially the remix , next time you're bopping to E.T. feat Kanya you can thank Mariah for pioneering that type of music. Also I beg to differ, but Daydream and Butterfly are one of the greatest RnB records out there and are not overrated, mostly are under appreciated. She’s had bodies of music out before this era that went completely under the radar and there was no indication that this album would’ve done so well. The Academy literally snubbed one of the most critically acclaimed and ahead of its time albums from last year. The album ended in several year end lists and was praised to heavens and beyond which is a lot to say for a debut album. SHE EVEN HAD A MUSIC VIDEO DIRECTED BY GRAMMY WINNER SOLANGE!!!! I was fuming, I was pissed, especially when she gave such a solid performance. Mood: I got a lot to be mad about Pink flamingos always fascinated me.
