justanothergay 2,486
I've never seen anyone mention it before, but the ending is also a very blatant reference to the ending of A Day in the Life by the Beatles, obviously because John Lennon was killed by fame. that boy that boy that boy that boy that boy That Boy THAT BOY is a MONSTER

Seeing her bleed out on stage was absolutely jaw-dropping and my heart stopped immediately. I wasn't a huge fan at the time, though I did know every single+ Starstruck, but after this performance I was absolutely SHOOKETH. I agree. There's been performances of hers since that I like better mainly for vocals and such. However, this was really the first performance of hers on television that I remember seeing. She was Lady Gaga and there was a feeling in the air I had not felt since Madonna in the 80s. The feeling like...something is about to happen. That anxious nervous feeling in your stomach that it could be something wrong or bad or crazy or shocking or different but SOMETHING was about to happen.... And did it!?!?! It was a stand to your feet in applause moment. It satisfied on all levels. This is when she showed the world, "Hello my name is Lady Gaga and I'm a mofo STAR!" A huge moment in the history of pop culture that still matters. The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw

gagzus 16,045
I won’t lie I kinda miss when she could do full choreo without getting out of breathe or trying to focus on making sure she sings perfectly lowkey, like now she would just stand still and pose during the spin around and drop to the floor type moves from this choreo 😩 I love this but idk Paparazzi at Glastonbury will FOREVER be her best performance for me, maybe because it was the first one of hers I ever saw and made me a fan idk. But that being said this was... OMG nuts! I hope she can pull out this energy next era again.

Allan 3,904
That is honestly and for sure one of the best performances in the history of TV. Not only because she bled to death, but because it's a reference to her own fame at the moment and the fame of many other famous icons that got killed / killed themselves. It was the perfect transition from The Fame to The Fame Monster in terms of the concept of both albums. That's pretty much why Paparazzi must be my favorite song from hers.
