Ariana Grande has dramatically pulled out of performing at tonight's BRIT Awards - leaving organisers frantic.

The star was set to perform an emotional tribute to to the victims of the Manchester terror attack in what insiders said was going to be the “biggest talking point of the night”.

But after agreeing to take part her team notified organisers in the last 24 hours that she couldn't make it.

Now bosses are frantically trying to arrange a replacement for tonight's tribute.

A source said: “It was utter chaos when the call came in that Ariana couldn't do it. It's race against time to get someone to do what is very much the centrepiece of the entire show.”

The Mirror exclusively told today how bosses had planned the tear-jerking segment which sees the names of the 22 people who died last May screened during the performance.

This month 24-year-old Ariana's manager told how the singer cried for days and felt "every name" of the victims.

Scooter Braun, 36, said he and the singer had met 19 families who had lost loved ones, which had been the "hardest two hours of either of our lives".

He revealed how Ariana was so traumatised by the bombing she had questioned whether she could sing again.

I hope she's okay, it must be so emotionally difficult to visit that place of pain again, especially after meeting all the families.  The only performance I was looking forward to

I was gonna say for replacement there's always Gaga for a tribute show,

But then again I'm not a fan of her last minute plan for a performance :excuseu:

I understand it's a tribute, but in my opinion it's unnecessary. It's been a year, so what? Will they make a tribute next year too because 2 years will have passed? It only seems a way to exploite that event, making a "tear-jerking segment" to draw attention on the show, to make money on the victims...

Gaga at her best when she given enough time to plan a performance eg : Superbowl, DWUW at AMA, Lovegame at MMVA, Bad Romance at AMA

When she suddenly change plan or have little time to plan it usually underwhelming eg : Bowie tribute & other performance that I couldn't remember :duck:

It's the first Brit awards (the UK's biggest music event) since the attack. Since those that died were from the UK and died while experience music, it makes perfect sense to do this.

Lorde can commemorate the death of Bowie, but Ariana can't commemorate the death of her fans? What an odd statement to make.

???

Gaga's 2010 performance at the Brits was spontaneous and last-minute and it was iconic...

But she already did a tribute to commemorate the victims. A whole concert to be more exact

Also Lorde made the bowie's tribute shortly after his death, not a year later

The original concert was to raise money for the families and show strength, this is to commemorate the death of those people. In fact, the death of her fans did not play a large part in the former whatsoever (other than the obvious implicit references).

Plus, it's 9 months later, not a year and the reason for that is, as I've already said, this is the first Brit awards since those people died hence there was no other opportunity to do this tribute.

I supposed to meant Lovegame at MMVA :duck:

But those Telephone/Dance in the dark at Brits was good too

I suppose Gaga can give good performance even with a last minute plan, I just afraid that it would have higher possibilities of turning into underwhelming show somehow

What song was she going to perform? I wonder if her team was forcing her to milk the Manchester attack and that’s why she pulled out. I do wonder about her mental health, after experiencing something so traumatic she was back on stage at the Manchester concert and has since been recording music. I know she needs to live her life and can’t dwell on what happened, but we all know what management can be like.
