Fewer cars on road reducing pollution, less congestion problems, better economic productivity by having goods move thru the less congested roads more quickly Also people who rely on transit alone and don't have cars may be disproportionately a higher percentage of lower income earners so it's also a good way to help redistribute wealth! It's in few cities because it will be tested. After that it will get to more cities I think. Bonn (former capital of germany and my city ), Essen and Mannheim are all important cities. Those who do keep a car can commute further if need be to get a better job opportunity that perhaps they wouldn't in traffic was too slow - less congestion helps productivity by getting shipments of goods by truck faster reducing transportation costs per item I think especially in large congested cities, this is a great investment worth the cost!!!!
