Difficult.
"I Kissed A Girl" and "Hot'n'Cold" made her establish herself.
"Firework" was massively impactive, no doubt.
"Roar" has been a successful re-entry in the pop business. But "Dark Horse" made it clear that Katy is also capable of delivering more than basic rock pop music.
"Chained To The Rhythm" and "Bon Appétit" were visually very appealing and thoughtful.

It's a tie between "Hot'n'Cold" and "Firework" in all honesty.

Princess Stache

Firework or Roar, though they're not my favorite.

Maybe Teenage Dream and Last Friday Night as well?

Then what was was Applause, a 1/5 hit? :ladyhaha:

Hot N Cold was bigger tho :gaycat:

:ladyhaha: Applause I wouldn't say was a hit

I heard it on the radio once when I was on vacation in Poland

Not many people remember it

And yeah, Hot N Cold was bigger I'll agree to that

But in Europe, her biggest was Cali Gurls, then Hot N Clod, then IKAG, Firework, TGIF, Dark Horse then Roar as far as I'm aware. I may be wrong

I'd say Cali Gurls smashed in 2010 and stayed in 2010.

When they did a Katy marathon on radio back in 2015 they didn't even play it.

They played Roar, Dark Horse, Firework, Wide Awake, Last Friday Night and Hot N Cold I think.

Fair enough

I mean, playing Wide Awake over E.T, Cali Gurls and Teenage Dream is weird but I guess it's fair

Apparently Waking Up In Vegas did well in the U.S? Which is weird because it completely flopped here

IKAG = Just Dance

California Girls = Poker Face

Firework = Born This Way

Teenage Dream = Bad Romance

Dark Horse = The Edge of Glory

Wide Awake smashed tbh

It almost went #1 and sold more than Part Of Me which did go #1.

I actually think they should have used Wide Awake as the lead of PRISM since it sounds much more mature than the rest of TD and the video would have been perfect, maybe with a lil tweaks here and there!

I completely agree

I think it was more popular because the music video was more Katy Perry if that makes sense

Part Of Me had a generic video, like something Kelly Clarkson would release

But yeah California Gurls :firega:

Off topic but that gif is so cringy. These days she reminds me of some dorky person like the mom from The Goldbergs trying to be cool and down with the kids and it just doesn't work. :toofunny:

I would say Dark Horse, as her best-selling single and biggest hit chart-wise, would be her signature song. However, it for some reason doesn't feel like her signature, at least alone. I think California Gurls or Firework are definitely her most "celebrated" songs and more career-defining than Dark Horse, despite not peaking quite as high as Dark Horse.

I think she is a rare case where all of her singles are her signature song in way minus a few but yea she has been serving bops non stop since 2008 which is something I appreciate even tho I don't like her
