Quark 7,089
o<(0_0)>o Most of Gaga's songs consist of an interesting mix of genres with the basis being pop. Other Gaga songs go deeper or more full into genres and remove the pop basis. So what do you prefer? Pop with influences from other genres or full genres? Electric Chapel has metal influences but it is still a pop song. Diamond Heart has alternative rock influences but still a pop song. Joanne is more of a folk song than a pop song. Come To Mama is more glam rock than pop song.

Everyone will feel a bit different about this. Just pick whichever option you generally like most. Like if you are mostly only into pop music, the 1st option will be best. If you prefer other genres over pop music the second option would be best. I also added a third option if you like both equally.

Other genres of music can be very interesting and experimental.

giskardsb 12,565
CTM is not glam it’s Motown. I am not in general a pop fan, but that said, I prefer Gaga mixing pop and other genres. Bad Romance is a metal song in disquise. Just look at the number of metal covers of it if you need proof. I listen to pop when it’s heavily influenced by other genres, most pop is too watered down for me. Gaga at her best merges perfectly pop melody with genre music. Marry the night is a great example of Gaga’s version of Jim Steinman via Meatloaf. Hair was very well done in Springsteen fashion but the lyrics are too cheesy for me. I think if anyone could usher in a new pop rock revival (aka "power pop") ala Pat Benatar is would be Gaga. I’d love that.
RAMROD 108,092
Full genres will be pure traditional pop, or also known as Jazz these days. No modern pop music are pure anymore. Pop music is eclectic, and often borrows elements from other styles.Even Adele, that some you may think as pure, got influences from soul and R&B. So for that, I choose pop with genres.
