But it's pretty impressive how the sport is one of the most physically challenging, but gets overshadowed due to it's "femininity." The silence of the room when professionals skate and the gasps from the audience during performances show how difficult and impressive what they do is. Plus everyone who takes part in figure skating is really on show whereas other winter sports like luge, snowboarding etc have their athletes covering their faces with helmets and protected gear.
