For me the gender bending quality is fascinating. Their humor is so campy and just collides with things I loved from John Waters, etc Drag can also be so many things, incorporating High Art, (cough Leigh Bowery) and it continues the tradition of theatre (aka Elizabethan theatre where men who played women would dress up in female's clothing) ((also Twelfth Night holiday))

I do recognize their performance as a form of art and respect it as such, but what upsets me is their constant cynical, bitchy, shady attitude, and all the acrobatics they do that makes them look like cheap, attention-seeking clowns.

I don't want to sound narrow-minded, I guess it's just not my cup of tea.

I have not watched the Ru Paul show so I cannot judge for all drag queens, but I feel like the most famous ones are always playing the role of an unapologetic bitch.

No thats fine, doesnt have to be your cup of tea! :hug:But you must understand that yes, your vision is limited (because you havent seen RPDR (which is totally fine) , a show that isnt also the whole world of drag but just a little taster. Most Drag Queens are actually very friendly and their bitchiness and shadiness has become more of mainstream aspect of it. <3

Yeah, there’s a long history on it.

Have you seen Paris Is Burning?

The bitchy/shady comments are mainly because of the reality show - which all reality shows have.

I haven't watched it but I could possibly if the movie (is it a movie?) is good.

It should be on Netflix. It’s a documentary and it basically summarized a lot of what drag culture is. It’s very enlightening and interesting.

Also, you stan a drag queen that sings 😂Because what Gaga does is essentially drag.
