More videos with controversial imagery in an attempt to generate clicks. Another throwaway generic song. What else is new? I honestly think this is them done now. I said the same for their last album but then Animals grew into a huge hit in the US and then Sugar became a mega hit all over the world and it actually resulted in a hit album and tour for them. But I knew this was likely their last gasp. And so far, I've been right. Sugar was their last big hit, back in 2015. Don't Wanna Know went top ten but that song's only included in the deluxe edition of their new album, it was clearly scrapped back when it didn't go #1 as expected. Cold was an even bigger flop, despite featuring Future. What Lovers Do barely scraped the top ten. The album's only sold 185k in its first 3 months in the US. Technically, Hands All Over would normally have been their end-point but they had a huge comeback due to Adam going on The Voice and again, the right single choice saved V, which was all set to be a flop. But I think this is it, folks. They may continue to get good video views but as far as chart presence and relevancy goes, Maroon 5 have surely outlasted their 15 minutes.
