GP demands Mandy Moore win an Emmy after Super Bowl episode

“This Is Us” received seven acting Emmy nominations last year, but none of them were for Mandy Moore. The Pearson matriarch, however, might finally get her shot this year with her performance in Sunday’s post-Super Bowl episode that has some of our readers inscribing the Best Drama Actress trophy with her name already.

 

Moore, who was nominated for a Golden Globe last year in supporting before opting to go lead for the Emmys, will likely get to show off more of her chops for the rest of the season as the Pearsons grieve Jack’s death. Also aiding her campaign is the cast’s SAG ensemble win. The show’s biggest supporters have always been actors — you don’t fluke your way to seven acting nominations — so she may have just missed the cut last year, which also didn’t offer her as much meaty material as this season. She certainly improved from her hit-or-miss performance in Season 1.

But she needs to get over with Elisabeth Moss in the The Handmaid's Tale, and Claire Foy in The Crown who was just the recent Best Actress winner in SAG. Right now I'm rooting for Claire Foy since this is her last season in The Crown, and Moss and Moore still has a lot of chances. Foy was just spectacular all throughout.

 Let's remember Britney makes some millions a year without doing anything.  She has been tangibly influential in the fragrance industry (see Ariana Grande, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift).

But congrats to Mandy Moore's acting success.

And Britney is still selling out arenas/shows internationally 20 years into her career.

All the lip sync talk is now worthless when she has a large international fanbase.

I guess talent really does always win.
